Shortly after the demise of David Anders' First Doctor, ETV announced its casting call for the Second Doctor.[14][15] As weeks went by, reports had been made of several Doctor castings.[16] In Fall 2019, ETV finally published a two-minute clip revealing the identity of the second Doctor; Ian Harding.[17][18][19] Melissa Peterman, who had been in the recurring cast since season 1, was downgraded to a guest cast member.[20][21] Later in the season, it was known that she would make her final appearance due to her characters' death.[22][23][24] Calum Worthy reprised his role as Wyatt Milton in the sixth episode, but later stated that he would not reprise in the fourth season due to contractual obligations.[25][26][27][28]
